Got a deal on some 285/70/17 Cooper ST Maxx from a guy on craigslist today. I'm having trouble determining what size wheel spacer is needed to prevent rub if I'm mounting these on the OEM wheels? I'd like to get new wheels but can't afford it at the moment.

Also, are hub-centric spacers the way to go? Was looking at a set on eBay. Trying to determine if I should get the 1.25" or 1.5" spacers.

I'm thinking 1.25" since that's the size I'm seeing others use and don't to push them out too far that they cause fender interference.

Other question is should I do 1.25" all around? I saw some people do .5 or .75" in the rear. Any opinions on that?

Bumping this thread for an update - I have 18" Lexus GX460 6 spoke wheels, running 265/60/18 right now and want to go up to 275's. Planning the Dueler A/T Revo 3 in a 275/65/18 which is a 32.1" diameter (same as the 275/70/17). Also considering the BFG A/T KO2. Anyone have experience with both of those tires that can offer a comparison...and the big question - handling difference from OEM size?? Stock suspension on a 2004 limited - anyone seen any rubbing? Thanks!

I did 1.25 on all 4 with Trd Sema wheels, pretty sure they are the same backspace as oem from what I remember when I had oem. My tires sit just outside the fender and look squared up well

You'll be fine with these. I'm more than likely putting 295x75x17s next go around

so I'm kinda broke right now so my lift in the front is gonna be the standard shock with a 3 inch aluminum puck and the rear re positioned like you said, butttt I just landed a small job that the money is ear marked for the rancho front quick lift loaded shocks and I'm gonna put that together with a 1.5 inch puck to gain 4 inches and then re do the rear, unfortunately parts are taking longer to get to me than normal with all the world craziness.

I do have some sweet picks of my Toyota Sequoia and the parts I do have now. I'll post pics of that later.

I don't recommend a 4" lift. You're getting well beyond the limits of your alignment and your stock UCAs. If you have a limited budget then this won't be the right course to take. Cheapest option by far is spend $300 on the 5100s and set on top perch and match the rear with your airbags.

My next go around I’m going to try to run 315/75 R16 16x8 -1 with around 2” lift front (perhaps a tad more) and 1-1.5” lift rear. We’ll see how that goes.

Nothing crazy. Haven’t got the new wheels rebuilt yet so running stockers and stock springs still (2” bilstein 5100s front and 1” spacer rear) since I wanted to get a better idea of suspension before I made multiple purchases trying to get it right. 285/75 R16 TA KO2. Still running sway bar links in these photos, but have quick disconnects on the car now for better handling.

Looking good! Nice bumpers, that helps a lot with clearance

I just bought a spacer lift for front and rear and the front went on perfect but the back will not due to there not being a rear coil how would I lift my car using the bags

Change the height of the rear sensor. It's located on the rear diff and attaches to the body. Check my build thread for a Pic of the sensor bracket

Don’t want to start a new thread so I’ll just ask this here. Just had a nice puncture in my sidewall from a recent trip so we’re gonna upgrade to a 315/75 R16. I had been concerned with gearing on these larger tires but I don’t think it’ll be terribly noticeable unless we’re loaded down. Anything else that might be a problem area when upping to 35’s without a regear?

I think gearing will be okay, guy on mud went to 4.88 in his when he went 35s. I think fitment is going to be your biggest problem. That front wheel well is small

Indeed. I’m hoping I can add a bit of forward caster and some mild firewall work to make them work properly. I’m also going to be running a somewhat medium offset wheel so we’ll see how it all goes. Think of going with General Grabber X3. Good ratings. Them or the BFG KM3.

Hi! I'm new here. I just bought an 04 2wd Sequoia a couple months ago. Just ordered bilstein 5100 front lift and old man emu rear shocks with 2" spacers. I have some 315/75/16 tires sitting around but currently have 17" rims on the truck. After the lift I'll be looking for some 16" rims for the 35"s, and am eagerly awaiting pics on here. Thanks for all the pics and info y'all! Keep it coming, I'll have some soon.
