I just converted mine the other day my write up on it is below. I guess the question is how high will you be lifting the truck if it is not higher than when you put the AHC into the high position your stock shocks should work but not as well as a nice mono tube aftermarket shock. The twin tube design is old and not as effective as the mono tube design. Hope this helps.
just converted my 2005 sequoia from AHC to coil overs a couple days ago after much research and looking all over the internet. I ended up going with OME 2862 coil overs and Toytec rear shocks. This job was not as bad as I was expecting shockingly (no pun intended) compared to the front !!#$%^&&* that is for another story.
I followed Josh from 1st gen off roads video pretty straight forward.
The hardest part is using the spring compressors to get the springs compressed enough to fit into the correct position(not really hard just time consuming). I used a small bottle jack (Josh used the jack that comes with the Sequoia) to slowly raise the lower control arm up into position once I had the new spring in position and then undo the spring compressors.
Also their is a clip on top of the air bag (see pic)I was able reach in just above the frame rail with a pair of long nose needle pliers to pull the clip off. Also here is a detailed link about how to remove the clips that the hoses use to attach to the air bag.

Toyota sells a $35 tool 09730-00010 to get the hose to release. If your just throwing it away you could just cut it also. (when you cut air will come out the hose) Someone also suggested cutting a tip off of a caulk tube make a slit in it to wrap around hose that looks like the part above. I tried this it worked on one side but I just cut the other side since it is no longer needed for me. I did have to use some pliers and tap it with a hammer to force caulk tip to release the hose. One you get the hoses off you can just pull the air bags out and the hose through the hole in the top. To get the air bags off just grab the metal base and wiggle it around and push up and out to get it out of the lower spring seat area. It comes out pretty easy.

After doing this I was expecting a light on my dash to come on for the height control I drove it around even got up to 50miles an hour and still no light. I don't know if I am just luck or what but I will take it.
So again all you need is new coils, new rear shocks and rubber isolators. I used these isolators from Dobinson's they say they are only for a Lexus GX460/470. Unless you can find some originals in a junk yard might be cheaper.

Exit Offroad said that they will also work with sequoia and so far they seem to work just find for me. About the cheapest I could find anywhere.
